Laura Linney, best known for playing strong, yet vulnerable characters, is one of the most acclaimed American actors of today. When she was a child, spending time at the house of her father, she developed an interest for the stage. Following her studies in Brown University for a while, then later at Juilliard School to study acting. In just two short years following graduation the actress began her Broadway career. The following year she made her first appearance in TV and film. She has appeared in innumerable films, and television and stage shows since. Throughout her professional career, she's received many awards, which include two Golden Globe Awards and four Primetime Emmy Awards as well as three Academy Award nominations and five Tony Award nominations. Despite her numerous awards, she still loves the theatre, and has appeared on stage and screen.
