Jennifer Garner was originally born in Houston Texas on April 17th 1973. Her family was however raised within Charleston West Virginia. William John Garner was her father, and was a chemical engineer at Union Carbide. Patricia Ann, her mother taught at a nearby college. She received her degree with a degree in chemical engineering, aiming to imitate her father. Because she wished to become an actress, she went to New York. She worked at a restaurant while appearing in Broadway shows. Garner was a guest role on the tv show "Felicity." This was here that she met Scott Foley, her first husband. She got her big break in the action film "Alias." Her first leading role was the highly acclaimed romantic comedy "13 going on thirty." She portrayed the role of a teenager caught locked in the body an older woman of 30. Garner picked Gary Winick (director) to create the film. Together, they looked for new projects to do until Winick's death in 2011. Garner became an ambassador of Save the Children U.S.A. in the year 2009. This position focuses on encouraging nutrition and literacy across the United States in addition to early childhood education. From 2014 onwards, Garner has been a part of the board of trustees for this group, promoting early childhood education. In her role as an ambassador for the organization, Garner frequently meets with families who are part of the organization's Early Steps to School Success program. The program guides parents on ways to support youngsters learn.
