April Lockhart

April Lockhart, born in 1995 on July 4th July. She started piano and guitar lessons at age seven. Her interest in making music was ignited. When she was 12 years old, April wrote her very first song Different. The singer spent much of her hours at the age of 14 creating songs and practicing music. Later on, she started taking writing excursions together with her dad to LA and NY. April was the month that she began to write about other issues in her book Take My Hand to help those of her peers who struggled in the face of peer pressure, disability and even suicide. Lockhart is a beauty and lifestyle influencer who has a growing audience. Lockhart is associated with the renowned brand Ilia with whom she has a partnership as well as being an expert in the field of lifestyle. Lockhart was born without a left hand and that is part of who she's become, but that's not the entire story. Lockhart acknowledges her handicap through her Instagram page, but she doesn't concentrate on her account. What is the message? It is not only our physical selves. Our identities are complicated and comprise a multitude of aspects. It's not my intention to let that determine me. I do not want to become a disability advocate who only talks about, because there are my other aspects Lockhart shares her thoughts via video from her home in Nashville. This doesn't have any effect on my everyday life. I go about every day as normal and have found the best way for me to adapt things. It's a big component of my daily life, so it is important to discuss it. Self-acceptance is a lifelong marathon however Lockhart is a true inspiration regarding this issue. However, she acknowledges going through phases with her body being unsure about wearing particular types of clothes that showed off her arms. She wears whatever she wants and proudly posts pictures of herself in the outfits she picks out on social media. Self-love she said is like a journey. "I doubt you'll be in that place," she said. It's a trip, but I'm not convinced that you will ever reach your destination. The idea of having people with you who are aware of you and know your emotions is important because they'll also be the people who will remind you what you worrying about?
