Richard B. Cheney has been a public servant for a long time and also is a successful businessman. He currently serves as the Vice President of the United States. Cheney has become a regular face in the Washington scene of politics and has been under various U.S. presidents George W. Bush and George H.W. Bush. He will serve as the fourth vice president, and is the elected president. Bush decided to choose Cheney to be his running mate as Vice President in July of 2000. Bush cited his experience and knowledge. Dick Cheney served as the chief of staff for a president, was an elected member of Congress as well as the secretary of defense. Both Republicans and Democrats appreciate his integrity. Cheney declares that he's an unassuming but trustworthy advisor for Bush in his administration. In accepting the Republican vice-presidential nod Cheney said that he is looking at serving alongside one who can work to achieve his goals by working across the political aisle and working alongside political adversaries to achieve a mutual goals. Richard Bruce Cheney, son of Richard Herbert Cheney & Marjorie Lauraine Dickey was born on 30 January 1941 in Lincoln Nebraska. At the age of 13 Richard and his family moved across Nebraska, eventually moving to Casper which was where his dad worked as the director of the U.S. Department of Agriculture local soil conservancy district.
